Duties:
Provider is board certified and/or Board eligible in Internal Medicine. Serves as hospitalist and attending physician to medical inpati! ents in ward, step down, and ICU setting.

  • Will also provide backup support for after hours, overnight medical Inpatient coverage and oversees the Family Practice residents on rotation at the Cheyenne VAMC when covering ER and inpatient services.
  • Expected to document into CPRS in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive date in accordance with the provision of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statues and policy and VHA policy.
  • Meets the needs of customers while supporting VA missions.
  • Consistently communicates and treats customers (veterans, their representatives, visitors, and all VA staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
  • Provides the customer with consistent information according to established! policies and procedures.

The Cheyenne VA Medical Center is a Level 2 facility, providing primary and secondary inpatient services in medicine and surgery as well as outpatient services in medicine, surgery and psychiatry. Qualifications & Evaluations

In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following:

Basic Requirements :
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience: Clinically trained in Internal Medicine; Current ACLS/BLS certification; and BC/BE in Internal Medicine. Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office.
