Clerical Claim Technician [United States]


 

Basic Functions:

Performs a variety of duties in support of Workers’ Compensation (WC) examiners and unit managers. Responsible for organization of all the claim files, opening and distributing mail and all other incoming correspondence as well as indexing mail as needed, scanning mail and digital drop file of invoices and mail in the claim system. Currently working with paper and electronic files. Provide timely and accurate direct payments to vendors and timely mileage reimbursements to injured workers. Handles all bill inquiries and bill objections as directed. This is a clerical team environment where everyone is crossed trained to be able to do all clerical tasks at hand.

Some Shared Team Responsibilities Include:

  • Open, date stamp and scan all incoming mail

    Process all outgoing mail, utilizing mail machine
  • Retrieve hard files as requested, onsite or located at offsite storage facility
  • Maintain current hard files and assist with scanning into claim management system
  • Process, manage, and digitally drop file all direct payments
  • Prepare and send bill objection letters
  • Communicate with vendors for bill inquiries on payments, process IT form for payment status or request rebill
  • Maintain clear documentation in claim management system with status of bill calls and bill objections
  • Enter New Claims accurately and daily
  • Process ebills, date stamp, index and process as outlined in procedures
  • Digital drop file all invoices and mail for assigned account into proper claim file
  • Answer and direct corporate phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
  • Photocopying of records and correspondence as requested
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Education/Training:

Degree: High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Previous office work experience desired.

Requirements:

  • Must be ok working Monday through Friday 8-5pm
  • Must be ok working Monday through Friday in our San Ramon Office, this is not a remote position
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
