Te Tūranga | The role:

As part of the People Leadership Team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering exceptional employee experiences for our people. You will lead and drive the vision and strategic direction of the Employee Experience & Culture function in the People team and build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver cross functional initiatives. It is essential that you provide outstanding people leadership, direction, and support to a high-performing, highly engaged team, with a focus on coaching, actively supporting team goals and initiatives, and role modelling inclusive behaviour. Having a focus on ensuring that we use best in class models and tools to drive and measure Employee Experience and Culture. Some areas of focus include:

  • Design key people experiences (across the employee journey) to deliver on our People Promise;
  • Design and embed our Culture with our Purpose;
  • Enable Belonging through clear diversity and inclusion strategies and practices;
  • Create and facilitate best in class Talent and Succession strategies and frameworks.

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful?

You will have demonstrated, in a large and complex organisation, successfully leading and delivering impactful Employee Experience, Culture, Purpose and Talent strategies and initiatives. You will also have an Understanding of and exposure to new ways of working - e.g., agile operating models, design thinking and successfully leading teams through transformational change.

As an excellent collaborator and connector, you are able to work across teams and bring people together to achieve the best possible outcomes. This must include an inclusive and collaborative leadership style, with the ability to influence and connect with people at all levels.

Other key attributes include:

  • Demonstrated significant commercial acumen.
  • Previous experience gained at senior leadership level in this field, with appropriate formal qualifications.
  • Ability to balance different perspectives/priorities and create optimal solutions
  • Proven senior stakeholder management skills ensuring business leadership support for, and engagement with programme development.
