Controller (Manufacturing Experience) - Urgently Needed


 

Acara Solutions is looking for a Controller with manufacturing experience for one of our medical device manufacturing clients in Chicopee, MA

This position is great for someone who has experience in inventory management, profitability, operations management, and has done financial reports.

This is not a traditional accounting position.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The main objective of this position is to exercise financial oversight over our operations. This role will be a key leadership team member that will support and drive EBITDA and operational metric improvement. Activity participating in operations and supporting our leadership is a key attribute and mindset to success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute business and financial expertise to the leadership team to help drive profitability at the site level, including the identification of opportunities to reduce costs, drive efficiencies, and maximize output.
  • Own the 'poor margin' report and associated pricing actions to influence.
  • Coach / lead / and educate local site leadership team on financial aspects of the business.
  • Responsible for financial cycles. Two forecast cycles per year and a budget build.
  • Responsible for weekly flash projection accuracy goals of Revenue and EBITDA within 95%.
  • Quarterly inflation reviews using data, modeling impact, and proposing price increases.
  • Establishing pricing floors for non-strategic customer accounts.
  • Preparation of month end close package to Corporate and other supporting schedules.
  • Oversight of balance sheet reconciliations for Corporate Controller/ Business Unit Controller.
  • Tooling/NRE projects follow up with leadership to verify if they can be closed and/or progress updates.
  • Cycle count analysis and review when needed.
  • Physical inventory coordination and reconciliation to G/L annually.
  • Review of E&O analysis performed quarterly making sure Supply Chain and Operation are fully aware of any risk situation.
  • Further Analyze, investigate and report manufacturing variances (Purchase price variance, Absorption, Scrap, Inventory revaluation, overhead spending).
  • Serve as liaison with external auditors.
  • Responsible for maintaining internal control procedures in the company in line with corporate financial Policies.
  • Perform capital expenditure projects in conjunction with functional areas.
  • Update senior management on any specific price changes, etc. on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Other deliverables and/or strategies as collaborated with BU leadership.
  • Responsible for annual cost roll and periodic FG/WIP roles per ECO changes.
  • VIP calculation and validation of 'hard savings' that are reported monthly.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ year's progressive experience in Finance or accounting in a manufacturing environment, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
  • Excel skillsets especially Pivot Tables and lookup formulas.
  • Not afraid of being on the shop floor, watching processes, and spotting waste.
  • Experience working in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Lean Champion background welcomed.
  • Willingness and confidence to roll up your sleeves by creating, integrating, and maintaining processes that support continuous business growth.
  • Have the ability to coordinate with auditors, banks, governmental financial agencies and various financial consultants.
  • Pursue and work toward the values defined by the company

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. MBA/CPA preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge Microsoft office tools.
  • Analytical mindset and data-driven.
  • Must have a good knowledge of financial accounting as applied in a manufacturing.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $145,000.00 per year
