Job Description


Role

Omdia is looking for qualified and motivated analysts to support its Flat Panel Display research practice for reports, consultations, and conferences. This category studies topics related to automotive displays and the Tier-1 OEM system integrator. Coverage will include automotive panel shipments for various applications, panel price tracking, system key component prices, production strategies, business plans&strategies, technology development analysis, design feature trends, supply chain information, and global industry dynamics and trends, etc.


Overall Responsibilities

The analyst's duties are to support the Lead Analyst in conducting the Automotive Display market research, ensuring that the correct data is collected, and writing or reviewing the analysis section for key deliverables. The analyst will be mainly responsible for China's market information research. Analysts will work with colleagues in Taiwan, China, Korea, and Japan. The analyst also supports conferencing, consulting, and client service business activities in China.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a network of automotive display contacts in China, ranging from panel suppliers, key component makers, tier ones, and OEMs to conduct interviews, surveys, and information exchange.
  • Regularly report to the lead analyst about the research results, including panel shipments, panel prices, key component prices, production strategies, business plans & strategies, technology development analysis, design feature trends, and supply chain info.
  • Be the contributors to the Omdia Automotive Display Market Intelligent Services, including monthly market insight articles, quarterly automotive report research, and semi-annually automotive display design and technology market tracker. And to support future reports like the automotive display supply chain tracking related.
  • Be the key service window for customers, prospectuses, and sales, and provide customer service in China
  • Contribute articles, blogs, and press releases to appropriate publications
  • Contribute to consulting projects as opportunities become available

Qualifications

  • Candidate should have at least 3-5 years of direct experience working at an FPD panel, automotive tier ones, module integrator, or have a graduate degree in a related field.
  • Candidates should demonstrate good manners and integrity in the service of clients and contacts.
  • Candidate should have the ability to summarize and analyze material in Excel (request strong capability), Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Candidate should thoroughly understand how displays are classified, manufactured (panel purchasing, tier ones, and OEM/business models), and distributed across the supply chain.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently, manage your own time, and have a proactive approach to your work.
  • Good language/communication skills are required
  • Business level English
  • Daily email in very international company required
  • Good level of reading, writing, and spoken English
  • Ability to create reports and presentations in English preferred
  • Business level spoke in Chinese.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering or mechanical engineering is preferred, a business administration or higher education degree is also helpful.
